Sarawak holds the prestige of being the largest State of the 13 States in Malaysia. Strategically located in South East Asia, it covers a huge area of 124,449.51 sq. km with vast tracts of land available for development. Easily accessible from major cities of the world, businesses and industries can conduct passenger travel and cargo transportation efficiently. The State is reachable by air within three hours from Hong Kong, three and a half hours from Australia, one hour from Indonesia, 6 hours from Japan, and only 45 minutes from Singapore and Brunei.

The Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy, or SCORE, is one of the five regional development corridors being established throughout the Country. SCORE is a major initiative undertaken to develop the Central Region and transform Sarawak into a fully developed State by the year 2020. It aims to achieve the goals of accelerating the State's economic growth, as well as improve the quality of life for the people of Sarawak.
 
About RM500 billion has already been committed since the launch of SCORE in February 2008 in Bintulu. The Sarawak Government had indicated earlier that it requires RM334 billion to fully develop the regional economic corridor by 2030.

Hi-Tech Industry

Sarawak has also established in the High-Tech Industry exploration. The current  Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone which has attracted several multinational companies to site their high-tech manufacturing operations in Sarawak. The industries ranging from silicon wafer foundry to circuit semiconductor design have fully established in Sarawak and in the mainstream of business expansion.

Currently, Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone is in the process acquiring the Cybercity status from Multimedia Development Sdn. Bhd. (MDeC).

Other Industries
There are other great investment opportunities in Sarawak due to its vast reserve of untapped natural resources, good infrastructure facilities and amenities, a harmonious society and a productive and trainable workforce.
